Match Program Overview
A Match Program is a program in which an entity makes a contribution that matches contributions to a charitable organization made by another entity. One example is the corporate match program offered by some employers. Under a corporate match program, when an employee makes a gift to a qualified organization, the employer matches it with a gift to the same organization.
Before a contribution may be made to a corporate match program, a relationship must exist between the corporation and individual/organization making the contribution. This is established on the Relations tab on the Individual Profile.
If an individual is linked to an organization, he or she may make donations or gifts to the corporate match program, including soft credit contribution type donations, such as a fundraising party.
