A-Score

The A-Score is a proprietary constituent scoring method developed by Abila with intelligence provided by Cygnus and other partners. A member's A-Score is based on their interactions with your site or meeting certain qualification conditions.

These interactions/actions or qualification conditions will be tied to an Action Type or a Demographic that has been set up in netFORUM. Action Types will have scoring weights assigned to them. Whenever a member or organization engages in one of these Action Types, they will receive the points awarded for that Action Type and their A-Score will increase. Therefore, the more engaged an individual or organization is with your association, the higher their A-Score will be. In addition, you may choose to set up a demographic to receive A-Score points.

The A-Score will be helpful in identifying your most valuable members and donors.

Viewing the A-Score

An individual's or organization's A-Score is visible on their profile.

The A-Score is a normalized score that displays as a percentage from 0 - 100. Next to the actual score is an arrow icon that denotes the trending for that individual's or organization's A-Score. The overall A-Score is calculated based on all of the subscores that have been earned by the member engaging in specific activities or meeting certain conditions.

The percentage displayed for the A-Score is based on how an individual ranks related to other individual's overall A-Score within the association. This normalized value prevents one Scoring Scale from dominating the overall score and artificially inflating this value.

Note: The normalized score displays a percentage value compared to all of the individual's or organization's scores for specific Scoring Scales. The individual or organization with the highest point total for a specific Scoring Scale will be rated at 100%. All of the other values will be calculated off of that point total. The normalized overall A-Score will be a composite of all of these normalized values.

To view each of the subscores, and the overall A-Score, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the More tab on the Individual or Organization Profile. This will expand the list of tabs available for that profile type.
  2. Click the Participation option. This will display the Participation child forms.
  3. Click the current scoring scales option to expand this child form.

The current scoring scales child form lists the overall A-Score at the top, as well as each of the enabled subscores for this association.

The overall A-Score is calculated composite based on all of these normalized subscores and displays as a normalized value compared to other individual's overall A-Score. The individual Scoring Scales are also normalized and display as a percentage value that is calculated compared to other individual's scores in that specific Scoring Scale.

  4. To view scoring trends for an individual or organization, expand the scoring history child form. This child form shows how an individual's or organization's scores change over time.

Note: As an individual (or organization) engages in actions that provide scores, their totals and normalized scores will update in real time. However, the other individuals (and/or organizations) will have their totals updated on a nightly basis. This update may cause a slight fluctuation in an individual's (or organization's) normalized score.

Setting Up the A-Score Values

Add Scoring Scales

To set up the A-Score values for your organization, you must set up the Scoring Scales that will be used and then decide which Action Types will be assigned to each Scoring Scale. Once it is decided which Action Types or conditions will be assigned to each Scoring Scale, you must determine the number of points that will be awarded when that action is completed or a condition is met by adding Scoring Weights.

Setting Up The Customer Action Workflow Rule

In order to ensure that scores are reported correctly, you must set up a Customer Action Workflow Rule for each Customer Action Type you create.

Assigning a Scoring Weight to a Scoring Scale

Scoring weights can be assigned to scoring scales for actions taken by individuals or organizations. In addition, scoring weights can be assigned to scoring scales when certain conditions are met.

Turning on A-Score

If you want to turn on A-Score, ensure the following are set:

  • Workflow Rules for A-Score must be active for any Action Types that you want to score.
  • Ensure that scheduled tasks are configured to run on the server.
