Use this system option to choose how netFORUM sends email. The main use of EmailMode is to prevent netFORUM from sending emails from @avectra.com email addresses. netFORUM might send email messages from these addresses if implementation or testing phases leave @avectra.com email addresses in system options or templates. If any function in netFORUM attempts to send an email from an @avectra.com address, the email will not be sent and an exception will be logged in the error log.

The default for this option is Live.
Current Setting
The current setting for EmailMode is used as follows:
Values: This system option can be set to one of the following options.
- Live— When the EmailMode system option is set to Live, netFORUM does not send email addresses that contain @avectra.com as the from email address. The Live setting is designed to avoid confusing members who are not familiar with Avectra. Clients must ensure that Avectra email addresses are not configured in Live netFORUM sites.
Important! EmailMode should be set to Live on any live site.
- Test—If EmailMode is set to Test, then email messages can only be sent to email addresses containing domains specified in the EmailModeTestDomains system option.
- Avectra—If the value is set to Avectra, then email messages can be sent only to email addresses that contain @avectra.com.
Default Value: Live
Fields
This system option includes the following fields:
description: This field gives the description of the system option, including its use and default value.
Important! Do not modify the following fields after the system option is first created. Changing these fields after they have been used can invalidate existing data.
category: This field sets the category (usually the module) where the system option is used.
type : The type field determines the display type of the current setting field (check box, drop-down list, or text box).
values: The values field indicates the allowed values for the current setting field.
Availability
Each system option includes the following availability settings:
entity level option?: Select this check box to make this system option available on an entity level.
visible to external systems?: Select this check box to make this system option available in xWeb.
