How Do I Copy and Paste a Data Spreadsheet into a MIP Fund Accounting Budget Worksheet?
Due to fixed columns for segment titles and budget totals, you are not able write or paste in these columns nor are you able to paste an entire spreadsheet into a blank budget worksheet as a single block of cells.
The following is a checklist for copying and pasting a spreadsheet into a Budget Worksheet:
- Create a “blank” budget worksheet in the system with all of the account segments you intend to work with.
- Copy only the columns in the data spreadsheet that contain the account segment codes, and then paste them into the budget worksheet.
- Copy only the columns in the data spreadsheet that contain the budget dollar amounts, and paste them in the budget worksheet.
- Of course, you will need to make sure the codes line up with the correct dollar amounts.
- You will need to set a “B” in the first cell of each row that is a row of budget items.
- You must construct your own formulas in the budget worksheet if you want totals calculated, they will not calculate automatically since you started with a “blank” budget worksheet.
