How Do I Schedule Allocations Using the Scheduler Module?

The following is a checklist for processing Allocations with the Scheduler. If needed, review the checklist for Setting Up Scheduler and Processing Allocations.

  1. On the Activities>Process Allocations form, select an existing Calculation ID that need to be calculated (from the drop-down list). (To create a Calculation ID, enter Calculation, Session, and Documentation information on the Process Information tab, and select an Allocation Code on the Allocation Codes tab; then click Save.)
  2. Click Scheduler .
    • Enter a unique Task ID to identify the scheduled job.
    • Enter a meaningful Description for the scheduled job.
    • For Allocations, the Recurrence is set to "Run only once" as the scheduled frequency.
    • Enter a Begin Date and Begin Time for the job to begin processing.
    • The End Date and End Times boxes are disabled since they do not matter because the Recurrence field is set to "Run only once."
  3. Click OK to complete the scheduling for the processing task.
  4. Verify that the Scheduler module is opened on the machine that will process the scheduled task. It must remain opened in order for the scheduled tasks to run. No other module needs to be open. You can process any jobs that were scheduled by you or all jobs if you have rights to process jobs for all users.
