Faculty Tab
An individual who is working at an event in an official capacity is part of the faculty.
This topic covers the Setup tasks available on the Faculty Tab, which includes the following child forms:
- speaker types
- staff types
- volunteer types
- honorarium types
Once you expand the child forms under the Faculty Tab, you can see icons that allow you to perform the following actions on the page:

goto record icon to view that record's profile page.

edit icon to edit a record on the child form.
|
|
|
linked headings to sort the records.

Speaker Types
- Speaker Type
- Indicates the role of a speaker at an event.
Example: Examples of speaker types: lecturer, moderator, Master of Ceremonies (MC), Subject Matter Expert (SME), keynote, workshop leader, etc.
To Add a Speaker Type:
- Go to Modules > Events > Overview > Events Setup > Faculty Tab.
- On the speaker type child form, click the Add icon.
- In the Add - Event Speaker Type window, enter the speaker type code. Each speaker type appears in the speaker type drop-down lists in the Event Profile pages.
- Enter the speaker type description. The longer description only appears in the child forms.
- Click Save.
The new speaker type appears in the list under the speaker types child form.
Staff Types
- Event Staff Type
- Indicates the role of an event employee.
Example: Examples of Event Staff Type: meeting coordinator, event manager, registration desk clerk, event setup staff, session speaker, information desk clerk.
To Add an Event Staff Type:
- Go to Modules > Events> Overview > Events Setup > Faculty Tab.
- On the staff types child form, click the Add icon.
- In the Add - Event Staff Type window, enter the staff type.
Each staff type appears in the staff type drop-down lists in the Event Profile pages.
- Enter the description.
- Click Save.
The new staff type appears in the list under the staff types child form.
Volunteer Types
- Event Volunteer Type
- The role of the person who works or otherwise contributes to a meeting, but is not paid.
Example: Examples of Event Volunteer Type: roundtable speaker, moderator, committee member, chairperson, exhibit volunteer.
To Set Up an Event Volunteer Type:
- Go to Modules > Events > Overview > Events Setup > Faculty Tab.
- On the volunteer types child form, click the Add icon.
- In the Add - Event Volunteer Type window, enter a volunteer type code.
Each volunteer type appears in the volunteer type drop-down lists in the Event Profile pages.
- Enter a volunteer type description.
- Click Save.
The new volunteer type appears in the list under the volunteer types child form.
Honorarium Types
- Honorarium Type
- The type of reimbursement given to someone in return for a service e.g. free meals, free registration, or free transportation given to a speaker for speaking at an event.
Example: Examples of Honorarium Types: airfare, meals, travel, free registration, free transportation.
To Set Up an Honorarium Type:
- Go to Modules > Events > Overview > Events Setup > Faculty Tab.
- On the honorarium type child form, click the Add icon.
- In the Add - Honorarium Type window, enter an honorarium type.Each honorarium type appears in the honorarium type drop-down lists in the Event Profile pages.
- Enter an honorarium type description.
- Click Save.
The new honorarium type appears in the list under the honorarium types child form.
