Edit Line Item

Modules>Fundraising>Donations>Add a Donation>Gift>Bill to Information page>Line Items section>Edit icon

A Line Item is an item that the customer is preparing to purchase.

To edit a Line Item, use the following steps:

1. Go to Modules>Fundraising>Donations>Add a Donation>Gift>Bill to Information page>Line Items section.
2. Click the Edit icon beside the Line Item you want to edit. The Edit Line Item page opens.
3. Fill in the fields as described in the table below. Depending on the type of product your line item is, you will see some, but not all, of the fields listed below:

   Field Name	Required?	Description
   display name	Optional	Enter the name that is displayed for this product.
   product	Required	Enter the full name of the product.
   sale price	Required	Enter the sale price of this product. If the product is a premium this price is 0.00.
   quantity	Required	Enter the number of products in this order.
   list price	Optional	Enter the price of this product when it isn't on sale
   override reason	Optional	If you entered a sale price that is less than the list price, select the reason for this change from the drop-down list.
   override notes	Optional	If you entered a sale price that is less than the list price, enter notes to explain the price override and expand on your chosen reason.
   start date	Optional	For subscriptions and memberships, enter or select the date that this subscription or membership becomes valid.
   end date	Optional	For subscriptions and memberships, enter or select the date that this subscription or membership becomes invalid.
   currency	Optional	Select which currency to use from the drop-down list.
   debit account	Required	Select the debit account from the drop-down list.
   credit acct	Required	Select the credit account from the drop-down list.
   ship to	Optional	For merchandise, publications, and subscriptions only, enter the first few letters of the customer's last name to see a list of matches. Or click the look up button to see a list of all customers. Choose the customer who will receive this product.
   ship to address	Optional	For merchandise, publications, and subscriptions only, select the address to ship this product to from the drop-down list.
   warehouse inventory	Optional	For merchandise, publications, and subscriptions only, select the warehouse from the drop-down list. This is the warehouse the product will be shipped from.

4. In the next section, the discounts, shipping charges, and taxes related to your selected product appear in the Discount / shipping / tax window.
5. Use the action icons above the Discount / shipping / tax window to perform actions as described in the table below:

   Use This:	To Do This
   apply discounts icon	to open the Add-Discount page, where you can search and add discounts.
   apply shipping / freight charges icon	to open the Add-Shipping page, where you can search and add shipping charges, notes, and override reason and notes.

6. Click the OK button to save your changes and return to the previous page. Click the Cancel button to return to the previous page without saving your changes.

Sending a Premium to a Different Person

If this Line Item is a shippable premium, you can ship that product to a customer other than the donor. For example, Floyd gives a gift of $100.00. He gets a free pen with that gift, but he wants to send the pen to Sylvie.

Use the following steps to ship the pen to Sylvie instead of Floyd:

1. Go to Modules>Fundraising>Donations>Add a Donation>Gift>Bill to Information page>Line Items section.
2. Click the Edit icon beside the pen. The Edit Line Item page opens.
3. Start typing the first few letters of Sylvie's last name in the ship to field. Select Sylvie from the list of matches.
4. Check the ship to address field, it should display Sylvie's default address. If not, select Sylvie's address from the drop-down list.
5. Click OK. The pen will be shipped to Sylvie.
