Online Gifts
A Gift is a charitable donation. There are several different types of gifts.
Many of these gifts are entered using iWeb, however individuals on eWeb can also make gift donations.
Enabling eWeb to Accept Gifts
Online Gifts are tied to a single, default source code. Source codes allow you to tie together various Fund Codes, Purpose Codes, Appeal Codes, etc.
In order for your eWeb site to accept gifts, the DefaultWebGiftSourceCode system option must be configured to a default source code for your organization. This source code should point to the Fund that online donations will go to.
To configure the default source code, complete the following steps:
- Expand the Module Menu and click the Admin option to open the Administration Overview page.
- Click the System Options icon. This will open the Find - System Option page.
- Enter DefaultWebGiftSourceCode in the System Option field.
- Click the Go button. The DefaultWebGiftSourceCode system option will be listed in the search results.
- Click the hyperlinked system option name. This will open the Edit - System Option page.
- Set the category drop-down menu to Fundraising.
- Set the type drop-down menu to TextBox.
- Enter the default source code to be used for all online gifts from your eWeb site in the current setting field.
- Click the Save button. This will allow the Make a Donation link to users of your eWeb site.
Note: New eWeb sites will have the Make a Donation link present by default in their left navigation menu. Existing eWeb sites will need to modify their eWeb site to include this option if desired.
