Shipping Setup

Overview

Shipping Products in netFORUM enable you to designate shipping rates and regions that you can apply to other products in your inventory that you sell. For example, you might apply a flat rate or a percentage rate based upon the order for shipping charges or you might deliver only to the eastern United States for one product. However, before you can set up and apply these shipping products and rates you must first make sure you have the shipping carriers set up that you are going to use for your merchandise inventory such as UPS or FedEx. To set up the shipping carriers and regions that you plan to use for your organization's products, you use the Shipping Tab and child forms in Inventory Setup.

Shipping Tab

Under the Shipping tab are the following two child forms. Follow the links to see the help topics on these child forms:

System Options

PricingControlShippingListSp

This system option is used when a client wants a custom stored procedure (sp) for custom pricing controls (or no pricing control) for the shipping list. If this system option is not used (text box is empty), the system will use the baseline sp (sc_shipping_list sp) to apply pricing controls to the merchandise list.

InternationalShippingPremium

Use the InternationalShippingPremium system option to add a premium to shipping charges the ship to address is an international address. A shipping address is considered to be international if the ship-to country is not USA (defined as "United States of America", "United States" or "USA" in any upper/lower case). This only applies to a shipping charge applied at the invoice level. This premium does not apply to shipping charges based on the percentage of invoice total.

The system option value must be in a format that can convert to a decimal (for example, 10 or 9.99). The value in this system option will be added to what would otherwise have been the shipping amount. For example, if the system option value is 24.99 and the shipping would have been 10.00, then the shipping amount will compute to 34.99.
