Certification Tool

Modules>Certification > Certificant > Certification Tool

The Certification Tool certifies candidates who have completed all requirements, but have not yet been certified. You can use the Requirements Tool to mark a list of certificants as having completed all requirements.

The Certification Tool is also capable of the following:

• enrolling certificants in a renewal program (if program has a renewal program)
• creating a renewal invoice (proforma or terms)
• updating the designation field on the individual record, if the program has a designation
• assigning a certificate number

Using the Certification Tool

To use the certification tool:

1. Go to Modules>Certification > Certificant > Find or Query Certificant.
2. Craft a list of Certificants you would like to certify. The List - Certificant page appears.
3. In the left navigation panel, click Certification Tool.
4. Choose which fields to fill in based on the description in the table below:

   Field Name	Description
   Certification Status	Choose the status the records will change to
   Update participant records already marked as certified	TBD
   Enroll in Applicable Renewal Program(s)	Select and if the current program has a renewal program, the Certification tool will enroll all Certificants in the list
   Create Renewal Invoices	TBD
   Proforma	TBD
   Invoice Batch	TBD
   Invoice Terms	TBD

5. Click the Update Participant Records button.
6. The Certification Tool updates fields in the Certificant records according to the table below.

Fields that might be updated by the Certification Tool

Certificant Status

If a certification status has been selected in the Certification Tool, the certificant status will be updated to the selected value.

Certification Date

For initial certifications, the Certification Tool will set the certification date.

Effective Date

For initial certifications, the effective date will be the same as the certification date. For renewal/recertification, a new effective date will be assigned.

Expiration Date

The expiration date is calculated by adding the certification program term to the effective date.

Note that if you are trying to process more people than are in your ListDataGridMaxRows user option, then you need to run the tool in batches. We do not recommend raising this number beyond the recommended limit, or you risk processing timeouts.
