Adding a Premium
Premiums are (taxable) gifts given to a donor in exchange for a (non-taxable) donation. Examples of premiums include merchandise such as a t-shirts or publications. Premiums can also include taxable portions of fundraising events or sessions such as the cost of dinner at a banquet or greens fees for a golf outing as well as memberships.
Before an item can be used as a premium it must first exist in NetForum. For example, if you would like to award a membership to a donor for making a gift, the membership must first be set up in the Membership module.
To add a premium, complete the following steps:
- Go to
- Click the Find Premium group item link. The Premium Group item appears under the More... link.
- Click the Add Premium group item link. The Add - Premium page opens.
- Fill in the fields as described in the table below:

Description premium Required Enter the first few letters of the name of the premium and select your premium from the list of matches, or click the search button for a full list. taxable amount Optional Once you select a premium, the cost of the item appears in this field. - Click the Save button to save your changes and go to the Fundraising Premium Profile.
- You must also set the conditions that will make this premium available for a donation.
- You must also associate the premium to a fund. This will allow it to be made available to donors who make donations to that fund.
- When a membership is used as a premium, the join and expiration dates of the membership will be based on the date the premium was awarded to the donor.
