Commission Schedule

The Processing Commissions feature functions from the Commission Schedule setup. A commission schedule defines the amount of commissions that will be paid to sales representatives on their sales.

Adding Records

  1. On the group items overflow menu, select the Commission Schedule group item.
  2. On the Commission Schedule group item, select the Add Schedule group item link.
  1. The Add — Commission Schedule page will display.
  2. Enter a commission type (required). This is normally related to what sort of product type the commission is being based on although a product type is not required.
  3. Select a product type from the product type drop-down list if you want to specify what the commission is based on.
  4. Enter a start date and end date (required).
  5. Enter an amount in the quota amount text box. A quota is the amount that must be surpassed before the commission is granted. This is not required.
  6. Enter a commission percentage. (required) This is the percentage of the sale that the commission is based on. For example, a commission amount might be 2% of all exhibit booth sales. Note: Do not put a % sign in the field or you will receive an error message. Only a number is needed as in the image sample below.
  7. Enter up to three accelerator amounts and percent amounts in the appropriate text boxes. An accelerator amount provides the sales staff incentive to sell more product. If the accelerator target amount is met, for example, you may choose to provide a higher commission percent.
  8. Click Save.

Navigating to the Commission Schedule Profile

The Commission Schedule Profile page is displayed once you have entered a new Commission Schedule into the NetForum application. If you want to navigate to and view a specific profile page:

  • Click on the Sales module from the Module Menu drop-down.
  • On the Group Item overflow menu, click Commission Schedule. You can then choose to List Schedules or Find Schedules.

Depending upon which schedule you choose, it will display in Edit mode. Click Save and the Commission Schedule profile page will display.

Commission Schedule Profile

The Commission Schedule Profile page shows the commission type, product type, and begin and end dates for the commission schedule. If a quota amount must be met before a commission is granted, it is also displayed. The commission percentage is also displayed along with any accelerator incentives with their corresponding amounts and percents.

To add a sales rep to a commission schedule once it has been created, the Sales Rep tab is used.

Sales Rep Tab: Rep Child Form

The Sales Rep tab on the Commission Schedule Profile contains one child form (of the same name) that you are able to use to add sales rep to your commission schedule. Use the Add button on the sales rep child form to add a new sales rep to your schedule.

The sales rep drop-down enables you to select the sales rep to add while the commission schedule drop-down enables you to choose the commission schedule.
