Opportunity Stage

An Opportunity Stage defines where in the sales process a prospective sale is currently. Sample Opportunity Stages include:

  • Initial Call
  • Follow-Up Call
  • Contract Sent
  • Closed-Lost
  • Closed-Abandoned
  • Closed-Won

Note: After you define stages, you can specify a stage for sales opportunities.

Adding Records

  1. On the group items overflow menu, select Opportunity Stage group item.
  2. On Opportunity Source Stage group item, click the Add Stage group item link.
  1. The Add — Opportunity Stage page will display.
  2. Enter a code in the code text box (required).
  3. Enter description in the description text box.
  4. Enter close probability in the close probability text box (required) The close probability is used for determining the sales pipeline.
  5. Click Save.

Once you have added the various stages you plan to track your sales opportunities by, you will notice that each time you add a Sales Opportunity, the opportunity stages you have defined now appear in the Opportunity Stage drop-down. As noted, this enables you to track each sales opportunity by stage.
