Adding a Tax Type to a Tax Product
Tax types are identifiers as to what type of tax is being charged to a customer during a transaction. Tax types are added to tax products in netFORUM. This information is required for passing Level 3 payment information data to the payment processing gateway.
Tax types can be added to a tax product at the time of creation or by editing an existing tax product.
To add a tax type to a tax product, complete the following steps:
- Expand the Module Menu and click the Inventory hyperlink.
- Expand the Tax Product group item to view the list of available group item links.
- Click the Add Tax group item link to add a new tax product.
- Complete the fields as you normally would when adding a tax product.
- Expand the tax type drop-down menu and select the tax type to be associated to this tax product.
- Click the Save button.The tax type has been added to the tax product and is now visible on the Tax Product Profile.
Note: To add a tax type to an existing tax product, use the Find Tax or List Tax group item link to locate the Tax Product Profile you wish to edit. Click the Edit button on the Tax Product Profile page to open the Edit - Tax Product pop-up window.
Tip: The tax type you add must have already been created in order to appear in the tax type drop-down menu.
