Understanding the Shopping Interface

iWeb Shopping

The iWeb shopping page features the following functionality:

View Cart Box – the View Cart box displays the number of items currently in an individual or organization's shopping cart, as well as the total cost of their purchase. If a customer wishes to see the exact items currently in their cart, they can click the View Cart link.

Featured Products Bar – the Featured Products Bar displays products that have a Featured Product date range that includes the current day. Right and left arrows allow you to scroll through the Featured Products. The Featured Product Bar is limited to 25 products.

Whenever the Search fields are used to search for a specific product, or category of products, the Featured Products Bar will collapse and only your search results will display. To display the Featured Products Bar after completing a search, expand the Shop For drop-down menu, select the Top 100 Products option, and click the Go button. When your shopping page refreshes, you will see the Top 100 Products and the Featured Products Bar.

Product Grid – products are displayed in a larger grid for easier viewing. This grid is five columns by five rows per page.

Member and Non-Member Pricing – both Member and Non-Member prices display for a product, however netFORUM Pro recognizes the customer’s status and will cross out the price that does not apply to him/her.

Navigation – Buttons are available to move forward or backwards one page at a time, or to move to the first or last page of available products with one click. Navigation controls are also available at both the top and bottom of the shopping page for convenience.

eWeb Shopping

The eWeb shopping site has the same features as the iWeb version, with just a slightly different look and feel.

Shopping System Options

Some of the display features listed above are controlled by the following system options:

ShoppingDisplayTopSearchLabel: This system option can be used to show or hide the search label with the caption "Use search to shop for more products" on top of the search results in shopping.
The default setting is to display the label.
ShoppingDisplayFeaturedProducts: This system option can be used to show or hide the featured products list on top of the shopping. This can be set to display the featured products list on iWeb, eWeb, or both sites.
The default setting is to display the featured products list on both sites.
ShoppingDisplayEligiblePriceOnly: This system option can be used to show the price in three different ways. The default setting for this option is to display the non-eligible price on both sites.
- to display the eligible price (member vs. non-member) in shopping, and hide the other non-eligible price.
- to display the non-eligible price in eWeb only, display the non-eligible price in iWeb only, and display the non-eligible price in both iWeb and eWeb.
- to hide the non-eligible price on both iWeb and eWeb.
