Product Credit

Product Credits allow you to associate CEUs with Merchandise, Subscriptions and Issues, Miscellaneous Products and Publications.

Based on the CEU setup for these products, CEU Credits can be awarded to individuals who purchase the product when running the Generate CEU Credits tool, or when adding CEU Credits manually.

Setting Up Product Credit

Product Credit records are added from the various product profile pages, on the Credits tab, Product Credits child form. Notice that the product description, credit type, and credit amount that will be earned is listed for each product. To add CEU credits to a product click the Add button. The Credit Information window appears.

  1. Product Name: The product name is already filled in since you are completing this information from the product profile page itself.
  2. Credit Type: The type of CEU credit that you will be granting if this product is purchased must be selected in the credit type drop-down. In the example used above, a merchandise CEU credit type has been created and selected. You create credit types in Certification Setup.
  3. No. of Credits: You must specify the number of earned credits that will be received if this product is purchased in the No. of Credits field.
  4. Certification Program: If this product purchase may count toward earned credits as part of a Certification Program, you may specify which program in the Certification Program drop-down.
  5. Country/State/Region: You may also specify if the credits are geographically restricted. For example, some CEU or certification credits count in one location while not in another. Law and medical certifications are the best examples of this.
  6. Click the Save button when you have completed your Product Credit set-up.

Managing Records

Product Credits are managed from the various product profile pages, on the Credits tab, Product Credits child form. The image below shows this on the Miscellaneous Product page; the other profile pages are similar to this.

Technical Information

The ProductRecognizeCEU system option tracks when CEU credit from from merchandise, publications, and misc. product purchases is recognized. Values include: Sold, Paid, Fulfilled, Manual. See the topic on Generating CEU Credits for more information.
