If you have a credit card processor that stores credit cards in a secure vault, then netFORUM, then netFORUM will store the customer's credit card information in the payment gateway for later use in netFORUM via tokenization.
Tip: If you are using the system option DoNotSaveCreditCardInfo, then credit cards are no longer stored in netFORUM in any form. You must use SecureNet if you would like to enable this system option and also use recurring or installment payments. When needed, these types of payments are passed from netFORUM to the payment gateway using a token issued by the payment gateway upon the initial payment authorization.
To use the Credit Card Vault in COE, complete the following steps:
This will complete your transaction and also save the credit card number used with this profile for a later transaction in SecurNet's Credit Card Vault, with netFORUM recording a reference token to that stored payment information. No credit cards are stored in netFORUM save in encrypted form when passed from the Credit Card vault.
The next time you process an order for this user, when you expand the payment drop-down menu this credit card number (in masked form only as demonstrated below) will be available for selection.

Selecting one of the stored credit card numbers will use that account and all of its stored information for the new transaction.
Note: You must enable the DoNotSaveCreditCardInfo system option if you wish to store credit card information.
Note that even if you submit a "new payment", the payment gateway may use an already-existing token if you submit the same credit card as was used for an earlier payment that was tokenized. You'll know this was the case if you don't see a newly added saved customer payment.
