Sage Account Updater

Sage's Account Updater captures changes in credit card information. To get that information into netFORUM, you have to configure netFORUM's bulk account updater to run periodically.

This topic covers the steps you must take to configure netFORUM to retrieve updated credit card information from Sage's Account Updater.

Note: Account Updater is a service offered by Sage, contact Sage to enroll in Account Updater and for information on fees associated with Account Updater.

There are two things in netFORUM that you must do to get the updated data from Sage's Account Updater :

  1. Configure the system option BulkAccountUpdaterDayRange

  2. Schedule the Bulk Account Updater

Configuring the BulkAccountUpdaterDayRange System Option

  1. Go to Modules > Admin > System Options > Find System Option. The Find - System Option page opens.
  2. Enter BulkAccountUpdaterDayRange in the System Option field.
  3. Click the Go button. The Edit - System Option page for BulkAccountUpdaterDayRange opens.
  4. Look at the value in the current setting field. The value in this field controls how far back in time netFORUM goes to get updated credit card information when you run the Bulk Account Updater. The default value of 90 means the following: every time the Bulk Account Updater runs as scheduled, netFORUM requests all the updated account information for cards not updated in the past 90 days.

Configuring netFORUM's Bulk Account Updater

  1. Go to Modules > Admin > Task Scheduler > Dashboard > Accounting > Bulk Account Updater. The Add - Bulk Account Updater page opens.
  2. Fill in the fields as described in the table below:
  3. Fields Required? Description
    task type Required Displays Bulk Account Updater.
    run task datetime Required Enter the date and time that the task is scheduled to run, or click the Now link to populate the field with the current date and time plus five minutes.
    execute after task Optional Select a previously scheduled task. netFORUM will start the current task after the task you choose completes. Once you choose a task, the run task datetime field disappears, and a check box appears.
    if the task above fails, run the task being scheduled anyway? Optional Click this checkbox to make sure that the current task runs, even if the task scheduled before it fails.
    notify template Optional Select the template netFORUM will use for the notify e-mail.
    notify e-mail Optional Enter the email address that netFORUM sends a notification to when the notify conditions are met.
    notify conditions Optional

    Select any of the following conditions to meet before netFORUM sends a notification email:

    on start?

    on success?

    on completion with errors?

    on failure?

    recurrence Required

    Choose one of the following options for how often this Account Updater will run:

    Once

    Daily

    Weekly

    Date of Month

    Week of Month

    Typically you would run this task once a month to keep client credit card information up to date.

  4. Click the Save button to schedule the update and go to the Profile page for this scheduled task. Click the Cancel button to return to the dashboard without scheduling the update.
