Default Web User

Overview

The Web User is an actual Individual in netFORUM that is used for a very specialized purpose in eWeb.

eWeb always requires a User to work with, but if the person visiting eWeb has not logged in yet, we don't know who they really are. So, to satisfy eWeb's need to have a User, netFORUM "assumes" that the user is this special individual who is named Web User, until the user actually logs in as a "real" individual. This user has a customer key of all zeroes (00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000).

Note: Do not delete this customer or eWeb will malfunction.

Web User Creating Data

If you ever see records added to netFORUM for this particular individual, that indicates that a person on eWeb performed some operation that saved data, and that person had not logged in yet. If this should not be happening, then ensure that the page(s) on which this action occurred require the user to log in. There are settings on CMS pages and sections that can require a user to be log in before they can access the page or section.
