List Page Action Buttons

The List Page Action buttons are buttons that appear on every NetForum List page, as shown below:

Every button leads you to an action you can perform on the current list, or the records you select within the list. The table below describes the functionality available from each button:

Use this Button To Perform this Action

Action Items button to see a list of actions you can perform on this list or on the records you select in select mode. Possible actions include:

  • Set Acknowledgment Date (List Gift): Click this action to set one gift acknowledgment date on all of the records in the list.
  • Household Individuals (List Individuals): Click this action to add selected individuals in the list to a household and set relationship of each individual in the household.

Reports button to see a list of reports you can run for this list. Each report gives you the option of exporting the report into several formats including XML, CSV, PDF, MHTML, Excel, TIFF, and Word. Possible report options include:

  • Quick Report: Select this option to create a report out of the current list. See the Quick Report help topic for more information.
  • Individual Mailing Labels (Avery 5160): Select this option to generate a list of names and addresses in the format of address labels.
  • Organization Type Graph: Select this option to see a graph that represents all the different organization types in the current list.
  • Organizational Roles Grid: Select this option to open a page that lets you select the organizational role to base the report on.
  • Gift Acknowledgment Report: Select this option to generate a list of gift-acknowledgment letters.

Export button to see a list of export options. You can export to the following formats:

  • Raw data to Excel: Select this option to export the entire list to Excel.
  • Raw data to Word: Select this option to export the data in the list as a comma-delimited Word document.
  • Text file: Select this option to see a pop up that allows you to choose how your text file will be separated and delimited. Make sure you allow pop ups from NetForum.
  • XML file: Select this option to export the list data in XML code.
  • ASCII Delimited or CSV: Select this option to export the data in the list into an Excel file.
  • Word Merge Document: Select this option to open a pop up that lets you choose the correspondence template to use for the Merge Document. Make sure you allow pop ups from NetForum.

Communication button to see a list of ways to communicate with this list of customers. Possible options include:

  • Email to this List: Select this option to open a page that helps you compose a mass email that will go to all the email addresses in this list, as long as the email owner didn't opt out of email communication.

    Note: If you are sending an email message to more than 500 recipients, then you must create a Call to Action.

  • Add Group to Mailing List: Select this option to go to a page that lets you add the list data to an existing or new mailing list.

Import from Excel button to open a page where you can paste data from Excel and process it into the database.

Mass Replace button (only available in Select Mode) allows you to replace a single value into a selected column across many records.

Map View button to view a map with the location of each data point (Individual, Organization, or Constituent) marked on it.

Tip: Additional actions can be added on List Pages by using Form Links.
