Package Code

The Fundraising Package consists of the marketing materials for a direct mail appeal.

For example, you might want to direct customized marketing efforts in the following manner:

  • Donor prospects
  • Non-donors (people who have never given a donation)
  • Lapsed Donors (people who have given in the past, but have been inactive in the last year or two)
  • Annual Donors (people who generally donate every year)

Each of these letters would have a different package. You can have multiple packages for an appeal. A package can also be used for multiple appeals.

The five standard Group Item Links (Add, Find, List, Run Query, Query Central), are available in the Package Code group item.

Adding a Fundraising Package Code

  1. Expand the Module Menu and click the Fundraising option.
  2. Mouse over the Package Code tab located in the Fundraising Group Items.
  3. Click the Add Package link located in the flyout menu.The Add - Fundraising Package Code page displays.
  4. On the Add - Fundraising Package Code page, enter the package code. (Required)
  5. Enter a description for the package. (Optional)
  6. Select the active check box if this package code is currently active. (Optional)
  7. Enter the package start date and end date. (Optional)
  8. Enter a package financial goal. (Optional)
  9. Enter any notes about the package, as appropriate. (Optional)
  10. Click the Save button.

Finding a Fundraising Package Code

Finding Fundraising Package Codes that has been entered into the netFORUM database is easily accomplished. The Find function is universal throughout netFORUM and detailed on the Find topic.

Finding Fundraising Package Codes within the Fundraising module follows the same format and function. You may search by the following:

  • Package Code
  • Package Description
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Package Goal
  • Whether or not it is active (Active Flag)

The Advanced View checkbox allows you to conduct boolean searches to broaden and narrow your search as needed. If you are uncertain with what you are looking for, use the netFORUM wildcard character, the percent sign (%) to help you with your search.

Managing Fundraising Package Codes

Navigating to the Fundraising Package Code Profile

The Fundraising Package Code Profile is displayed once you have entered a new Fundraising Package Code into the netFORUM application. If you want to navigate to and view a specific profile page:

  1. Click on the Fundraising module from the Module Menu drop-down.
  2. On the Group Item menu, mouse over the Package Code tab. From the flyout menu that expands, you can choose to List Package or to Find Package.

    Regardless of which method you choose, you will be presented with a list of Package Codes.

  3. Click the name of the Package Code whose profile you wish to view.

    The Fundraising Package Codes Profile for that Package Code will display.

The Fundraising Package Code Profile shows:

  • package code
  • whether or not the package is active
  • start and end dates
  • package goal
  • description
  • notes

Related Appeals Child Form

The Related Appeals child form displays any Appeal Codes associated with the package.

Related Campaigns Child Form

The Related Campaigns child form displays any Campaign Codes associated with the package.

Fund Code Child Form

The Related Funds child form displays any Fund Codes associated with the package.

Source Code Child Form

The Source Code child form displays any Source Codes that have been associated to the Package Code.

Child Form Controls

The GoTo Arrow on each child form takes you directly to the associated profile.

The Add icon, allows you to add additional Appeal Codes and Source Codes as needed.
