How to Transfer Credits Between Account Profiles

At times, customers may wish to transfer credits from their account profile to that of another customer. For example, customer A may register for an event and choose to transfer their event registration to customer B, thereby allowing customer B to attend in their stead. You can easily transfer a credit from one customer's profile to another customer.

  1. Navigate to the invoice for customer A on which the products were purchased.
  2. Click Cancel Invoice. By cancelling customer A's invoice and creating a credit, the credit may then be used for customer B's purchase.

  1. In the Invoice Cancellation window, ensure that the Create Credit check box is checked. Add information in the desired fields and click Process Cancellation.  If customer A paid by credit card, ensure that the Issue Credit refund for single card payment check box is not selected.

  2. Once the invoice is cancelled, customer A will show a credit on the cancelled invoice. This credit may now be applied to a purchase for customer B.

  1. Navigate to customer B's profile and Go Shopping.  On checkout, select the Bill Me payment method. Be sure to click the Create Invoice check box.

  1. Now that there is an outstanding balance on customer B's account, it is time to apply the credit from customer A's account. Navigate to customer A's profile and click the Add Payment action icon.

  1. In the Make a Payment > Select Orders screen, click the Add Customers button. The Select Customer screen will appear.

  1. Next to the Customer Name field, click the lookup icon to select a customer name from the List–Customer Information list. Select the name of customer B, who will be using customer A's credit. Once selected, customer B's name will appear in the Select Customer screen, in the Customer Name field.

  1. Click Next.  On the Select Orders page, the open orders and invoices attributed to customer B are listed.  Select the desired invoice to which credit is to be applied by clicking the check box.

  1. Click Next.  The Payment page will appear. Note that customer A—the customer from whom the credit is applied—appears in the Customer Name field. From the Payment Method drop-down menu, select the Pay in full with credit option.

  1. Click Next and confirm billing details on the Billing Address page.
  2. Click Next.  The Submit page appears. Note that payment information confirms that customer B's invoice will be paid by the credit from customer A's account.

  1. Click Pay Now.  The Payment Confirmation page will appear.
