How Do I Find an Imported Prospect in CRM?

Once a list of prospective members or customers has been imported, you can later identify their status as imported prospects if a unique Source Code was created for the uploaded list. (For more information on setting the source code when uploading a list of prospects, see the help topic: Importing a Prospect List.)

To identify an individual or organization's source code, check the Record Source code in the Individual or Organization profile.

  1. Navigate to the Individual Profile or Organization Profile.
  2. Click the Edit button in the Address Information section. The Edit Personal Information window will appear.
  3. In the Edit Personal Information window, Personal Information section, locate the Record Source name. This is the source code assigned to the individual or organization record identifying where or how the information was gathered.  If a unique source code was created when uploading a Prospect List, it will appear in this field.

Tip: The Source Code is not applied only to individuals or organizations uploaded from prospect lists. When editing the individual or organization profile, if a source code has not already been assigned one may be selected in the Edit Personal Information window mentioned in Step 2 above.  Therefore, if you wish for imported prospects to remain uniquely identifiable by their source code, a completely unique source code must be created when importing the prospect list and no future individuals or organizations should be assigned to that source code.
