What is a Product Code?

Use Product Codes to categorize and find a member type, merchandise, subscription, miscellaneous product, or event. Member Type Codes, Subscription Codes, and Event Codes are all considered  Product Codes. A product code has a 25 character limit including spaces. Using more than 25 characters in a product code will generate an error.

You may want to use a date (e.g., year) as part of the product code to distinguish the products by year. Decide on naming conventions that work best for your business practices.

You can also change the sort order of the columns on the List pages by clicking the Product Code column header. This allows you to view the products by year (or alphabetized) should you choose those naming conventions.
