When creating a new Individual Profile or editing the Address Information section of an Individual Profile, you have the option to link the phone and fax number of a Primary Organization to the individual's profile. The Link Phone and Link Fax check box in the Edit Personal Information window, links the individual's Work Phone and Work Fax to the employer's Work Phone and Work Fax. If the organization's phone or fax number changes, the individual's linked Work Phone and Fax will automatically update to the new numbers.
Note: If the Link Phone or Link Fax check box is not selected and the employer's phone or fax number changes, you must manually update the business phone and fax numbers. Only when the phone and fax numbers are linked via the Link check box will the organization contact numbers be automatically linked and updated on the individual record.
To link a Primary Organization's phone and fax numbers, you must navigate to the Personal Information form for the desired individual. There are several ways to reach the Edit Personal Information form. - Adding an Individual Record: When creating a new Individual Profile, the Personal Information form must be completed.
- Editing Individual Profile Information: Personal information may be edited from the Individual Profile page.
Under the Phone & Fax Number Information section, click the Link Phone and Link Fax check boxes. The work phone and work fax fields are replaced with the Primary Org's phone and fax information. If the Primary Org's phone or fax number is updated, the linked work phone and fax fields are automatically updated as well.
If a new Primary Org is selected, the linked work phone and fax numbers will automatically be linked to the new primary organization.
