When creating a new Individual Profile or editing the Address Information section of an Individual Profile, you have the option to link the address of a Primary Organization to the individual's profile. The Link Address check box in the Individual Profile, Personal Information window, links the individual's Primary Organization address to the employer's Business Address. If the organization's address changes, the individual's business address will automatically update to the new address.
Note: If the Link Address check box is not selected and the employer's address changes, you must manually update the business address. Only when the address is linked via the Link Address check box will the organization address be automatically linked and updated on the individual record. You may use the Batch Organization Name Update process to update an organization name change in this case however.
To link a Primary Organization's address, you must navigate to the Personal Information form for the desired individual. There are several ways to reach the Edit Personal Information form. Visit the help topics linked below for more information on how to reach the Personal Information form when adding a new record and when editing an existing record.
- Adding an Individual Record: When creating a new Individual Profile, the Personal Information form must be completed.
- Editing Individual Profile Information: Personal information may be edited from the Individual Profile page.
Once you have reached the Personal Information form, ensure that the Primary Org for the individual has been set. (For more information on setting a primary organization, see the help topic: Adding a Primary Organization for a Contact.)
Under the Address & Contact Information, Business Information section, click the Link Address check box. The business address fields are replaced with the Primary Org's address. If the Primary Org's address is updated, the linked business address fields are automatically updated as well.
If a new Primary Org is selected, the linked business address will automatically be linked to the new primary organization.
