Using the CVV Field for Credit Card Transactions

You may now specify whether individuals paying by credit card are required to provide a CVV number when entering their credit card information. When entered, the CVV value will be passed to the organization’s payment processor.

Whether the CVV field is required or not is dependent on the organization’s payment processor. Organizations should be familiar with these rules and set their credit card payment types up accordingly.

This functionality is visible wherever credit card payments are accepted (Add Payment, Open Orders, etc.) in netFORUM Pro, including the eWeb Shopping Cart.

Setting the CVV Field Value for a Credit Card

To enable the CVV field to show when a credit card payment is used, complete the following steps:

  1. Hover over the Modules tab in the top navigation bar. In the fly out menu, click Accounting.
  2. On the Accounting Overview page, click Setup.
  3. Expand the Payment Methods child form.
  4. Expand the Credit Cards payment method by clicking on the folder   icon.  This will display a list of all of the credit cards that have been set up.
  5. Click the edit icon next to the credit card whose CVV settings you wish to modify. This will open that specific card for editing.
  6.

  7. Expand the CVV Field drop-down menu. The CVV Field drop-down menu is a required field and contains three values:
    • Do Not Show – Selecting this value will hide the CVV field whenever this credit card is used for a purchase.
    • Show – Selecting this value will display the CVV field whenever this credit card is used for a purchase, but it will not be required to complete the purchase.
    • Required – Selecting this value will display the CVV field whenever this credit card is used for a purchase and entering the CVV value will be required to complete the purchase.
  8. Select the CVV setting you need for this specific credit card. Again, the CVV rules are specified by your payment provider.
  9. Click the Save button. The CVV Field settings have been saved and will be used whenever that credit card is used by a member to make a purchase.

Tip: Note the credit card icon in the image above. Credit card icons will display each time a credit card is used to pay for a transaction in both iWeb and iWeb.
