Understanding Bundle Functionality

Like Credits and Refunds, Bundles use a special charge code. The Bundle charge code must be set up during the creation of the netFORUM Pro entity for financial transactions associated with Bundles to appear correctly in accounting batches.

Product Bundle Functionality Rules

  • The Bundle uses the Price Attributes, Sell Online flag and Dates, Inactive flag and Dates, and the Member Only/Viewable to Non-Member flag that are set up on the Bundle. These Product Details will be ignored for Components that are part of the Bundle. For example, if a Membership has been marked Inactive and it is a Component of a Bundle that IS ACTIVE, customers will still be able to purchase the Bundle and the Membership Component. However, the Membership will not be available as an individual product.
  • Taxes and Shipping will be recognized at the Component level. With this flexibility users can sell Merchandise with Tax set up in the same bundle as an event registration that normally does not carry tax.
  • Certification is not available through the Online Shopping Cart. Therefore, if a Bundle contains Certification as a Component it will NOT be available to be purchased through the Online Shopping Cart.
  • Events that are part of bundles can be listed in the Upcoming Events, however registration for the event that is part of a bundle must occur in the Online Shopping Cart
  • If a user Tracks Inventory for a Merchandise Product and that Merchandise Product is a Component of a Bundle, there must be Quantity on Hand for that Merchandise in order for the Bundle to be purchased.
  • If a Membership and an Event are part of a Bundle, when a Non-Member purchases the Bundle and immediately returns to shopping to create another transaction, they will get the Member prices for the purchase.
  • Each Bundle Component can be cancelled from the Individual Profile, or the user can cancel the entire Bundle.
  • If Bundle Components are cancelled individually, the user should cancel the Bundle product on the Invoice as well.
