Setting Up User Options

On the User Account page, the User Options section gives you the ability to:

  • Select whether you want to go directly to the Profile page when a search returns just one record
  • Select the maximum number of Recent Contacts you want to display in the left navigation bar
  • Select whether you want the Find pages to have data entry fields for a simple or an advanced search
  • You may also activate and deactivate a user account. View the Activating and Deactivating a User Account help topic for more information.

To set up User Options:

  1. Hover over the Modules tab on the top navigation bar. In the fly-out menu, click Administration.
  2. On the Administration/Overview page, expand the User Management group item and click List Users.

  1. Select the user from the list of users.
  2. On the User Account page, the User Options section gives you the ability to change the settings for List Auto Redirect, Recent Contacts Count, Advance View Search, and Reset a Locked Out User.

The List Auto Redirect setting gives you the ability to go directly to the Profile page (instead of going to the List page) when a search returns just one record. If the check box is selected, the Profile page will display if there is just one record in the search results. If the check box is clear, the List page will display if there is one record in the search results.

The Advance View Search setting allows you to change the search fields on the Find pages so that the Advanced View search fields display by default for all Find pages. If you select the check box, the Boolean operator fields will automatically display on the Find pages without you having to select the Advance Find check box such as seen in the example below. (Boolean operators include "Begins with," "Contains," "Greater Than," "Not Equal To," etc.)

The User Locked Out check box enables you to reset a user that has been locked out of the client due to incorrect password attempts when logging in. Resetting a password with this check box is explained in the online help topic, Resetting a Locked Out User.
