Saving a Favorite Query

In Query Central, you can save queries in a My Favorite Queries list. This functionality facilitates finding the queries you use on a regular basis.

To save your favorite queries:

  1. Go to the Reports module.
  2. On the group items bar, click the Query Central link.
  3. Select a Query Type from the Type drop-down list (e.g., Event Registrant, Accounting, Individual, Membership Dues, etc.).

  1. A list of relevant queries displays. Select the check boxes next to the queries you want to save to your Favorite Queries list.
  2. Click the Update My Favorite Queries button.
Make sure you click the Update My Favorite Queries button before you go to another page.

  1. Later, when you select My Favorite Queries as the Query Type (you may need to scroll up to see this option), all of your Favorite queries (e.g., Event Registrant Queries, Individual Queries, Invoice Queries, Membership Queries, etc.) will display in a list for easy access.
When you run the query, if you select additional data parameters (step 2), additional parameters will not be saved automatically. You will need to select them again each time you run the query (even if you saved the query to your My Favorite Queries list.)

Certain demographics fields are sortable in query results, including the CheckBox (Flag), DatetexBox, TextBox (currency), TextBox (string), and TextBox (integer). For more information on setting up custom demographics fields, see the help topic: Creating Custom Demographic Data Fields.
