Modifying Address Information on Subscription and Membership Renewals
When processing a Subscription or Membership Renewal, you now have the ability to specify the default Billing or Shipping address of the renewal. In previous builds, the address for the renewal would automatically be assigned based on the prior invoice of the subscription/membership and could not be modified.
For example, note that the customer below has his Business Address set as Primary.
As a result, this address was used when purchasing the Subscription for the first time for the Shipping and Billing address as noted on the original order/invoice.
When renewing this subscription (or membership as the case may be), you may now also specify a different address assuming the customer has that address set-up on their CRM record, such as a Home address.
Note two drop-downs on the Subscription Renewal form below; Default Address Billing Type and Default Address Shipping Type. You may use both to modify the Billing and Shipping address during the Subscription (or Membership) Renewal process.
One new drop-down exists on the Membership Renewal form, seen below, and functions exactly the same as the Subscription Renewal form; the Default Address Billing Type.
Notice that the order/invoice created will use the address specified during the renewal process – in this case the Home address and not the Billing address – even if it is not the Primary address set in CRM.
The following business rules have been applied for this functionality:
- If the Billing/Shipping Type Address is left blank, the initial invoice/order address is used.
- If an address is selected that is empty, the Primary address will be used.
- This functionality is in place for single, batch renewals, and bulk renewals that run based off of mapping.
