Requiring a User to Log In for Web Section Access

On the Content tab of the Web Site Editor, for added security, you can require a user to log in before they can access a specific Web section.

Note: You can also add security to a specific Web page from the Web Site Content directory tree.

To require a user to log in before accessing pages in a Web Section:

  1. Go to the Web Site module.

  2. On the group items bar, click Web Site Editor.

  3. Select the Content tab.

  4. To add security to a section, click the Edit Section icon next to the section name.

  5. From the Web Section Information window, you can select the Pages Requires Login check box to require users to login in order to access the pages contained in the section. This means that the user must be logged-in before the entire section may be accessed. This will automatically select the Requires Login checkbox for each page within the section. You may also specify that only certain pages may require log-in (as opposed to the entire section). View: Requiring a User to Login for Web Page Access.

Require Log-In:  Once checked, the Require Log-In icon will appear next to the section or page in the Content tree.
